Frequently asked questions
What is the best way to help?
- We are incredibly grateful that you want to help us! As a combined effort, we can empower children in Cambodia to be the future leaders of their country and have access to wider opportunities. Our biggest challenge is raising funds to achieve our goals and also raising awareness. The best way to help us is to make a donation, attend our fundraising events or host your own fundraising event FOR us! See our 'how can you help' page.
Can I donate clothes or other items to HKC?
- We appreciate your kindness in offering to donate items. Unfortunately we are a small organisation without the administrative and financial capacity to process and ship items. The mail service in Cambodia is also unreliable, and we discourage these forms of donations at this time.
Is HKC registered in Australia and Cambodia?
- Happy Kids Cambodia is a registered charity in Australia with the ACNC (Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission). We are also a registered fundraiser in the state of Victoria. This means all our fundraising activities are carried out in Victoria and funds are sent to our beneficiaries in Cambodia or spent by our committee members appropriately when conducting ground visits to Siem Reap. We are not registered in Cambodia as an NGO, however we work extremely closely with local Khmer and expat people living in Siem Reap whom we trust.
Does the Happy Kids Cambodia committee get paid?
- No wage is paid to the HKC committee. We are all 100% volunteers and are happily donating our time to this worthy cause.
